Aspect
Notes
Accommodation
This is an old farmhouse, renovated and modernised. With 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, it can sleep 8 people. Large spacious rooms. Very well equipped and tastefully decorated. During hot summer days, an airconditioner will be a welcome and perhaps needed improvement.
Safety
This is a relative safe area with no incidents for years. There are no special safety equipment or technology, but all outside doors of the house are protected with a lockable metal bar door, and all windows are equipped with burglar bars. The house is close to a public road, closed off with a sliding gate. We never felt unsafe.
Leisure activities
Boesmansdrift is the gateway to the many attractions in the area. Visitors come here to explore the Breede River valley with all its wine cellars, cycling routes, 4x4 routes, fishing, and other activities. On the farm and at the house are enough to keep the children busy.
Farm activities
This is a working fruit and citrus farm which means there are agricultural activities all year round. Visitors are welcomed to explore the farm and view all the activities. There are a few farm animals such as chickens, pigs and cattle. Visitors are encouraged to interact and feed the animals.
Value for money
Overall, this is good value for money. It is a true family getaway with relative safe surroundings and many attractions within a short distance for the farmhouse. When the house is occupied by 8 people, the rate per person is well below the acceptable rate for this class of accommodation.
